Your corner of the world.

Tu rincón en Salento.

A traditional corner house, upstairs on Salento’s Calle Real: curtained bunks, one private double, a wall signed by travellers — and the Willys jeeps to Cocora a block away.

The Corner House at dusk: a white two-storey corner building with yellow painted eaves, green-and-yellow trim and wooden balconies, a lit sign at the corner and people walking on Salento’s main street

Step inside

Up the stairs, through the door — into a painted forest.

Reception is wrapped in a botanical mural: bare branches, bromeliads and moss climbing the walls around the hostel’s logo. It’s the first thing you see when you arrive with your pack on.

The walls talk

Every wall here is a guestbook.

Names, flags, hearts, a hand-drawn jeep, advice for whoever sleeps in your bunk next: for years travellers have written on the walls and the kitchen counter. The 2019 photos below come from the hostel’s Instagram; its newest listing photos, from December 2024, show the wall still filling up.

More of the house

Why this corner

Small house. Big crossroads.

  1. A house with history

A traditional corner house with painted eaves and wooden balconies — about 130 years old, by the hostel’s own account. You sleep upstairs; the street keeps the ground floor.

  2. Travellers from everywhere

Bunks with curtains, a compact shared kitchen, a counter where tomorrow’s plans get made — and walls signed by the people who slept here before you.

  3. Walk to everything

About a block to Plaza de Bolívar, the Willys jeeps and the cafés. Calle Real runs right past the door and climbs on to the Alto de la Cruz.

  4. All of Quindío out the door

Wax palms in Cocora, coffee farms downhill, páramo for the brave. Reception helps you plan; independent operators run the trips.

Where you’ll sleep

Four rooms. One is private.

Three mixed dorms and a double — every bathroom is shared. No live prices here: ask about your dates or check the booking platforms.

One corner, everywhere

The Corner travels.

In 2019 the hostel’s little black business card turned up a long way from Salento — and the hostel posted the proof. Flip the cards.
